Growing up in the Bay Area I only dabbled in drawing as a youngster. In my twenties I started using acrylics as a way to channel some creative forces that needed to get out into the world. As a self-taught painter, my learning-curve was steep. when I returned to painting during the Pandemic closures and over 20 years without a paintbrush in my hand, it was a struggle, but I found my way back to that creative force.
I began painting with acrylics when I was in my early twenties. It's proven to be a flexible medium that allows me to create everything from washes to deep, vibrant textures. However, I'm always looking for something new. I've added inks, charcoal, foods and texture mediums to my painting supplies. New tools and inspiration from other ar

However, I'm always looking for something new. I've added inks, charcoal, foods and texture mediums to my painting supplies. New tools and inspiration from other artists give me reason to try new supplies as I move forward into molding my own unique style. Kitchen tools have become a fun way to make new marks.

My moods are key, and feelings definitely determine the results of my painting time. I blame the mysterious "Muse". Color inevitably changes in the most unplanned ways, and intentions bend to whatever the paint will give me. My final paintings are ultimately revealed in the last moments when I lay down my brush.
